Regenerate your Recipes with Replate

Replate is a web application developed as part of a Solid.js hackathon, where the project achieved 3rd place. The challenge was to design and build a fully functional product within a very limited timeframe. From initial concept and UX design to front-end development and deployment, Replate was created from scratch in just two weeks. The focus of the project was rapid validation - turning an idea into a working product that could be used and tested in a real-world context during the hackathon. Despite the short development cycle, the application was fully live and accessible throughout the event, demonstrating both technical feasibility and a clear product vision.
Due to ongoing maintenance and infrastructure costs, the platform was taken offline after the hackathon. However, the project is not discontinued and is planned to be picked up again in the future.

Branding & Visual Identity
The branding for Replate was developed alongside the product itself, with a strong focus on speed, clarity, and usability. Given the tight two-week timeframe, the visual identity needed to be lightweight, flexible, and easy to apply across the interface without slowing down development.
A warm and inviting color palette was chosen to reflect the emotional side of cooking and food discovery, while still maintaining enough contrast for a clean and modern UI. The primary accent color adds energy and highlights key actions, supporting user engagement without overwhelming the interface. Neutral tones provide balance and ensure readability across different components.
Typography was selected for clarity and performance. A modern, highly legible typeface was used to create a strong hierarchy across headlines, UI elements, and body text. This allowed the interface to remain intuitive and accessible, even as features were built and iterated rapidly.
The overall branding strikes a balance between approachability and technical precision. It supports the product’s purpose, enhances usability, and integrates seamlessly into the front-end architecture. Despite the fast-paced hackathon environment, the result is a cohesive visual system that feels intentional and scalable, laying a solid foundation for future development when the project is picked back up.

Print Design
Digital Design
The website was designed and developed as a complete product interface rather than a static showcase. A clean and lightweight UI was paired with a fast, responsive front-end built with Solid.js, prioritizing performance and clarity.
User flows, interactions, and layouts were intentionally kept simple to allow users to quickly understand and engage with the product. The design system was created alongside development, enabling rapid iteration without sacrificing consistency or usability.
Replate demonstrates how thoughtful UX, clear structure, and modern front-end technology can come together under extreme time constraints. The project serves as a proof of concept for rapid product development - from idea to functional web app - and lays the foundation for future expansion.
